Love is in the air!

Spring has sprung in my part of the world already this year, but we don't have to wait for Spring to think about romance - or dolls.  Those things, as well as fashion, are always intriguing for dollinistas like us.

Designer Drive
Today I am happy to present to you some romantic designs that were  made to satisfy what was required for a challenge given to our designers on Couture Doll Shops.

Couture Court

This challenge imagined that how we dress when confronted with a romantic possibility can be quite distinct.
The rules suggested it would be beautiful to breathe life back into our most romantic moment by dressing our dolls in something we had worn (or might wear in the future) to a  romantic encounter.

All types of love would fit into such a scene. One could imagine a real one, or use a scene they would like to be in.

The designers could literally take this theme as far as they could imagine!

But they had to keep it couture!  They were to style it beautifully, and it had to represent the story line they presented with their entry.

In other words, it had to scream romance!!

The entries have been sent in and the challenge would be over but for one more piece of business.  We don't have a winner for this challenge - oh my!

But not to worry, that should be remedied soon.

If you haven't picked up your latest copy of FDQ - run, don't walk to your mailbox for your subscribed copy or go to your local bookstore to pick up an individual copy.

Each time I see this magazine I am captivated by the beauty of their wonderful photography, and this one is no exception!!

But I digress!  I mentioned FDQ because I wanted you to know that inside their Romance issue is an article and pictures of our Romance fashions!  It's  neat seeing these fashions online - but there is something mahvelous about seeing them published!!

There is also an invitation for their readers to join in the vote to select the winner of this challenge.   And I am extending that same invitation to you.  You've seen the pictures on here, but for more detailed pictures plus a place you can vote, you will need to follow this link.  Once on the site click on Romantic Entries 1-6 on the menu for specific directions to navigate this contest and vote.

You can vote 7/15 through 7/27, and the winner will be posted here on this blog 7/29.  (PLEASE NOTE:  Due to late arrival of FDQ for many, voting has been extended through 8/10 - results will be here on the blog 8/12.)

The winner will receive the Re-Imagination Jacqueline Frost, basic doll, provided by Angelic Dreamz.

Now that you know as much as I do about this challenge, it's time for you to go over and look over the entries and vote HERE.   Then you can check out our shops on CDS HERE and pick up some romantic  items for your own dolls - that's where I'm going!!

Farewell for now, my pretties - see ya on 8/12 with more CDS news!
